About us

Trinity Lutheran Church Hamilton was formed April 1, 2020 from the amalgamation vision of Faith, Grace, St. John’s and Transfiguration Lutheran Churches of Hamilton. The plan was to develop a vibrant connected ministry and mission to serve Hamilton and surrounding areas. In November, 2019 Faith, St. John’s and Transfiguration churches committed to the amalgamation and Trinity Lutheran Church of Hamilton was born. Grace Church amalgamated with Trinity July 1, 2021.

Trinity’s pastors are Daniela and Thomas Mertz and Loretta Jaunzarins. They, along with our congregation, are committed to offering meaningful and engaging worship. Trinity wants to make a difference in people’s lives.

Trinity Lutheran Church is a member of the Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada.

I recently joined the pastoral team at Trinity after pastoring at Grace Lutheran - one of the amalgamating congregations - for almost 16 years. I am looking forward to helping create meaningful worship experiences, relevant learning opportunities and engaging with the local downtown community and the wider City of Hamilton. I am also a volunteer chaplain with the Hamilton Police Service.

Trinity is a diverse Christian community that welcomes all people in friendship and love. I look forward to meeting you here at Trinity!

Bookkeeper

I am working on a part-time basis as the Bookkeeper for Trinity Lutheran Church. Prior to coming to Trinity, I worked as the Office Administrator for Transfiguration Lutheran Church for 15 years.

I was also an active member of Olivet United Church where I was the Treasurer for 5 years, the Treasurer of the Women’s Group for 20+ years and the Librarian and a Trustee.
